A2e

(Apple //e rebuilt)

The Apple //e was a fixture of my childhood — a machine I associated with school computer labs, floppy disk carousels, and Oregon Trail. When I spotted one gathering dust in a middle school classroom, I struck a deal with the teacher who owned it: she'd give me the machine if I printed every crossword puzzle she had stored on her disks. I spent weeks after school feeding floppies and listening to a dot matrix printer grind its way through the stack, one puzzle at a time.

The machine came home with me and stayed in my life for years. Eventually the disk drive gave out, BASIC stopped responding, and one day it simply didn't power on anymore.

The heavily modified casing now houses an Orange Pi 3 LTS running a CLI Pandora client. It lives in my workshop and serves as my "radio" of sorts.

02 AZIM

AZIM

(Getac S400 G3 rebuild)

AZIM is a fully custom daily-driver laptop built from the casing of a Getac S400 G3 field computer. Every original component was removed and replaced: a LattePanda 3 Delta (Intel N5105, 8GB LPDDR4) on Debian 13 Trixie, with a 512GB NVMe primary drive, 64GB eMMC backup, and a hot-swappable SATA drive bay.

Hardware additions grant USB-C docking abilities, four programmable function buttons, and eight programmable status LEDs. Input is handled by a Keychron K3 mechanical keyboard.

The exterior was hand-masked and painted with a tapering stripe pattern in orange and beige — a deliberate cassette futurism aesthetic that makes the machine as distinctive to look at as it is to use. The name is Turkish, meaning determination — a fitting descriptor for a project that demanded it.

03 Buick Radio

Buick Radio

(1956 car radio rebuild)

Similar to the A2e project, this 1956 Buick car radio has had its broken innards replaced with a Raspberry Pi 3 and a nice pair of speakers.

Driving the same Pandora CLI client, but this time running a green phosphor CRT emulator on a wide OLED display.

Chrome buttons were added for player controls and a separate Bluetooth remote was built for convenience.

I build things that don't exist.

I take commissions for one-of-a-kind functional hardware. Depending on the project, the aesthetic might be 1950s atomic-age futurism, the chunky utilitarian charm of 80s–90s industrial tech, or the warm walnut-and-brushed-metal elegance of a high-end 1970s hi-fi. What stays constant: every piece is built to be used, not just displayed.

Under the enclosure, my builds run on open-source software and local infrastructure. No cloud dependency, no subscriptions, no telemetry. When I hand you a machine, it's yours — fully, permanently, and serviceably.

The ideal commission starts with two things: a problem no off-the-shelf product solves, and a desire for something worth looking at every day. If you've ever thought “I wish this existed,” it probably can.
